Who is this crazy person behind I Kill Orchids?
Well, I’ll try to tell you.
I am Jeremie.
- I believe in living life to its fullest at all times.
- I believe in the true potential of humanity as a whole and as individuals.
- I am a dedicated marketer as my chosen career (I own a digital marketing agency).
- I passionate about my hobbies… Orchids being at the top of my hobby list.
When I start into anything I get a running start and jump as high and as hard as I can from the highest cliff into the deepest water and figure it out from there.
“Research” might well be my middle name.
Messy used to be my natural tendency and now disciplined neurotic OCD is my constant companion.
I follow my heart but I believe in the truth behind the numbers and I run my “orchid-ing” hobby with the same philosophy.
I can’t always tell you why I believe I should care for my plants in a certain way other than to say that they “tell” me what they need. But I also know that the measurable results tell me how accurate my gut feeling was.
I used to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, but I have decided to become a jack of many trades but a master of a few that I CHOOSE.
You will find that I am black and white and I say it like I see it, but I always do so because I firmly believe that there is freedom in truth and when you can face the truth you can correct what needs to be corrected. So when I call somebody on their shit, it is because I hope they will use it to become better.
I don’t like the word “wrong” but I do like the word “incorrect.” I don’t believe in attaching moral characteristics to something that simply may need to be corrected.
So I will never tell you that you’ve done something right or wrong… only correct or incorrect.
I suppose you could say that I am both simple and complex and perhaps that is why I really love caring for orchids. In many ways, they are the same.
They simply want to thrive and grow and produce amazing flowers. They put great effort into doing so, even when we are less than able to provide them with ideal conditions.
I have seen many orchids come back from what a lot of people would call dead or hopeless, only to re-grow and end up thriving.
There are times when they can be fickle and on occasion, a simple change of location will cause leaves to yellow and growth to slow, but frequently… with time they adapt to the new conditions.
They are amazing plants with such variety, and they bring me great joy.
So that is a long convoluted jumble of statements about who I am and what I believe.
If you have managed to read all the way to the end… there is one thing that I want you to know more than anything else… This site was created to give anyone and everyone a fun and informative place to hang out and learn about orchids and find respite from the crazy world we live in.
I believe that everybody deserves a little joy in their life and if I can help you have some by providing an enjoyable place to get involved and nurture your orchid-ing abilities… then I have succeeded.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!!!
I look forward to getting to know you!
